Default B18C1 over heating!

Swapped an 01 GSR into my 99 hatch. Everything is running well except for the fact that the car over heats when the car is not moving (i.g. in traffic). A friend told me there was air in coolant tracts when I filled it up after the swap. There is supposed to be a drain plug to get all the air and coolant out. Where is it? I'm not talking about the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator itself. There is supposed to be another one, the dealer removes to totally drain the coolant before refilling new coolant. HELP!

Well, on newer GSR motors, there is no coolant bleed hole. I think that is what you are looking for. In my 98 helms manual, it just says to open up the radiator cap and let the car warm up ( fans come on at least twice ). Some coolant will bubble out so have some rags handy. This is the proper procedure for bleeding air from the coolant. Also, I read somewhere that it helps to park on a slight incline with the front end higher than the rest of the car.

HTH.

Make sure the heater valve is open when you put water in. Have you verified that the radiator fan works? The fan switch is on the thermostat housing. If you jumper those two wires together, you'll know right away.
