Overheating issue??...
Of course when cleaning the IACV (98 gsr), coolant is going to drain out of the tubing. A large amount of coolant did drain out, so after it stopped. I put everything back together once the IACV was cleaned. Since a lot of coolant was gone I refilled the coolant reservoir, assuming it would refill what was lost.
Then I finally got the car running, drove the car down about a few blocks and the car started to overheat. I drove the car back home, thinking what could have happened.
I'm thinking that I there maybe some air in the line and its not circulating correctly. Should I do a coolant flush? I'm a bit stumped

not always....when the engine is COOL! remove the radiator cap and see if there is coolent right there at the cap.....if there isnt...add some until its full...squeeze the radiator hoses to get most of the air out of them....and keep adding coolent till the radiator is full...
Thanks, I will see to it as soon as I can.
Does this tend to happen whenever you deal with the coolant system. This is the first time it's happened when cleaning the IACV.

Always fill the radiator with new fluid and not the overflow bottle, unles the overflow bottle isn't at the minimum.

Just got done with the coolant, and everything seems to be working great again. It's not overheating nor is the needle rising above its normal operating temp.
