Where do I locate the valve for ac recharge
I have a 94 civic with r134 and I was gonna give it a quick shot and use the auto parts store refill. There is a High and Low side and then I also read something about a silver canister. Where do I hook up and spray at? I'm not too worried about it but it would be nice since I have a kid that may not like the heat. Thanks

You want to charge using the Low Side port. I found a random pic on the net and circled the Low Side(Suction)port. Be careful of Refrigerant you buy at Auto Parts stores and stay away from anything that has "Leak Stop" in it.
The Silver canister you heard about is most likely the Receiver/Drier which is located below your Windshield washer reservoir.
In the picture below you will see I circled the Low Side in red, the other port you see is the High Side(Discharge) port. Be careful just adding Refrigerant to your system. The correct way to add would be to get a quality set of gauges so you can see where your Suction and Discharge pressures are at. If your starting with a system that has no Refrigerant in it, I like to add by weight using a scale.
Good Luck. And if you use one of those DIY bottles, once you puncture the hole in the can let it bleed through the line for a few seconds to get rid of the Air/Moisture and then hook it up to your Low Side port.
Good Luck.
