What is the proper AC recharging produre after replacing the compressor?
I have heard that I have to purge/flush the entire system before putting the compressor back on. Can I just do this with the stuff they sell at Auto Zone to blow it all out? Then I use the low pressure nozzle and fill to the appropriate level, right?
I'm trying tio save $$ and not have to have them hook it up to the recovery machine at the garage up the street.

i took a class at a tech college on this and just resently did it on my car...
the flush u dont have to do it but if ur system has been opened for a while recomended, but after u are suppose to blow it out with compressed air
but here is the basic steps recover(take the the refirgerant out, not venting it but into a approved bottle bc venting is illegal) the system, take off and put on new compressor, evcauate the system(vacuum pump is needed put it under a vacuum for 30 min at like close to 30Hg depend on sea level or not) then charge on the low side first can should go in good, the second turn on the a/c at max air and then open up the second slowly dont let all of it in so u dont over charge the system hints:may need to get like a heating pad and put on it the new bottle to make the stuff go in and dont turn upside down
think that should do it

That's what I thought. I was wanting to be able to do the evacuation without having to pay someone to do it. I have $30 in 134r bottles!!!I wish they had cans that could do this that were vacuums, just like they have them pressurised with r134. Is there a cheap vaccum pum that I can buy to hook up to the high pressure side?

This is one thing I wouldn't go cheap on. Get someone with the right equipment to do the job.
The reason you vacuum the system is to get out water (both liquid and vapor) from the system. Water can totally ruin your compressor. In the long run, it could cost you more money if not done correctly.
