my hydro transmission on a B16a is giving me some problems.

1-3 gear work fine no grinding nothing, but 4th will grind like all hell, and it is really hard to get into gear sometimes, and it will even pop out occasionaly. and i cant even get it into 5th gear i mean not even to grind like something is stoping it maybe in the linkage. The shift linkage was just customly welded because Hmotors sent the wrong linkage in the swap, but it seems like nothing is blocking it. When the car come to a idle it seems it can get stuck in 4th a little not enough to stall but to get a nice rattle noise going. Also, when I was putting a new timing belt on it I stuck a peice in the fly wheel to stop it so i could loosen the bolt, but what happend is the peice used to hold the fly wheel broke and i thought it flew somewhere in the shop but maybe it when into the tranny? and thats the locked feeling I feel when trying to push it into 5th gear? Any help is greatly needed and appreciated.

1 more thing does anyone have a estimate on a mechanic doign work on trannys. thanks guys.

could be your 4th gear synchro. As for mechanics you'd be better off at buying a new tranny.

Better off getting another B16 tranny of H-T. Rebuilds are expensive, especially when using OEM parts.
