Default Optimizing timing B16a2

Hi im going to check my timing for my JDM B16a2 but im unsure at how many degrees to set it. I know Stock timing is 16 degrees BTC and people usually say it's safe to advance it to 18 degrees BTC.

But my engine has a ported and polished head and a thinner 2 layer head gasket. Pistons are stock p30 items.

I worked out compression on one of those compression calculators and im running around 10.7:1 compression.

I have read that getting a thinner head gasket or planing the head changes your timing characteristics.

Im running stock cams and stock camgears, so I was wondering taking my headwork and thinner headgasket and higher compression in account, what should I set the timing to?

Any help appreciated

sorry to be off topic, but I don't think there is such a thing as a jdm b16a2. Only on USDM motors there were numbers after the engine code. So a JDM motor would only be a b16a.

What about it? In japan they have it as B18C for the ITR and B18C for the GSR motor. Only USDM motors have the C5 specification.

numbers=usdm
no numbers=jdm
Thats why they cant track down stolen jdm motors.

Well im from New Zealand and most the Hondas we have are JDM. I always thought the JDM DA's and EF's came with the 160Hp version of the B16a.
Mine is a 1994 EG9 Civic SiR and that comes out the the 170Hp version?
They are the second generation B16a so hmm ok my bad. LOL you guys are quite picky with the fine details hehehe

Anyways back on topic. 16 deg ignition timing it is
