Car Jerks During Acceleration
When i start on first and let off the clutch all the way my car starts to jerk like im on and off the gas constantly. It does it through 3rd gear. Only way to make it drive normal is to press the gas pedal down all the way. Could the problem be air in the clutch lines? How can you find out if all 4 injectors are shooting fuel? Also i dont have throttle cable bracket but today im picking it up at the dealer. Its on a zip tie. It jerks like a beginner driver that lets off the clutch too fast in between shifting.

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration (Dickies_n_FlipFlops)
i used to have a prelude that did the same thing... any CEL's? i had a CEL for TPS (throttle position sensor) and IACV (idle air control valve) replaced them both and the car ran fine...

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration (8YourV8)
obd1 gsr w/chiped p28 built internals.
Primary oxygen sensor not hooked.
Cel on for MAP sensor.
running on headers. i notice that there is like a corrosion inside the dizzy cap #1. any affect to it?

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration (Dickies_n_FlipFlops)
My car did the same thing after i turbo'd it (lots of modifications). Took it to DSG for a dyno tune and it was still doing it. Came back a week later and they helped me street tune it, car now runs like it just came from the factory.
Might want to get that bad boy street tuned, especially with fully built internals. Usually the results are better/more smooth than a quick dyno tune. If anything, I would look into replacing that dizzy cap if it is corroaded, it's only like a 20 dollar part anyway. Also, get that throttle cable done right, and get another MAP sensor to fix that CEL and any other codes that might come on after that.
If the tune doesn't work, you may have a bent intake valve. Usually this symptom happens during partial throttle with a bent valve, which could have been caused by driving the car on a bad tune/running too rich, or beating on the car before it is warmed up. (It's vtec, any car that has vtec should be warmed up to running temps before you try to crack vtec, otherwise you can significantly damage internals.)

A little, When i had my MAP sensor problem my idle was a bit higher than normal and would fluctuate, My car would jerk on and off like how u say it is, change the MAP and u should be rockin the street again

Holy 12 year old bumps Batman !!! You should probably be more specific about the year/model of Civic's that you had because your response would only be true on a MAF tuned engine... it would make absolutely NO DIFFERENCE on a Speed-Density (MAP) tuned engine.

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration
Simply put, one should take one minute to check if a crack would not be present on the rubber air intake tube. That would probably be a smoking gun

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration
As JR Civic said, these engines are MAP controlled thus they don't care about air leaks before the throttle plate. Will run normally even with the intake pipe completely removed or replaced with lousy ebay pipe.

Re: Car Jerks During Acceleration
You should tell both Civics (2012 and 2014) I had and on which the problem was immediately solved by replacing the damaged tube. They probably don't know it
