Can't figure out why my 97 civic ex spits and sputters
I have a 1997 honda civic ex, it does have the vtech. It starts just fine and runs fine till it gets a little warmed up then it starts sputtering or stalling out, whichever you call it, it doest ever die it just loses all powere for a few seconds. ive checked the MAP sensor, the IAT sensor, and the throttle body positioning sensor and none of them are bad. It also always seems to do it right after i put gas in it so i assumed fuel filter or pump was no good. Fuel filter is good and i assume the fuel pump is alright it makes the same noise and when it dies down i dont lose any fuel pressure at all. check engine light is on its throwing code PO141 which i know is the O2 sensor heater circuit. But ive read on other threads and other websites that that wouldnt case my problem. Dont know what to believe anymore

I dont know alot about engines but someone told me thats for my secondary O2 sensor behind the catalytic converter. i dont have a catalytic converter and no sensor. Would that cause my car to not run right? i dont care about the CEL being on. I know this is probably some stupid questions but I'm illiterate when it comes to all this

"I don't care about the CEL being on" is quite possibly the shittiest way to own a car. If the CEL is on, fix it. Otherwise, when the next code comes up, you won't know that there's a new problem.
P0141 is your secondary O2 sensor. Replace it. Reset the ECU. We'll work from there.

All I have to say is you might want to start diagnosing instead of asking for a direct answer on what the issue is. Electrical problems aren't fun. If your heater circuit isn't functioning than it needs to be remediated. I didn't bother looking up the code because thats kind of your responsibility to provide that as well as the details of what the code means.
If your ride is sputtering, sounds more like backfiring, than you want to look at your ignition system
