camshaft & valvetrain
I'm looking to buy a ctr camshaft($300) and a itr valve($125), i was wondering how much hp/torque gain i would get off my 00Si? Do i also need pistons? Manifolds? Thanks

the intake cam definatly makes power about 5-10hp on most b16a,
as far as valves don't bother get some ITR springs instead only 8 (are needed since your intake springs are already dual springs)...or even some titanium retainers...so that you can extend your rev for about 2-400rpm more....

The ITR/CTR cams will definitely give you some power, but how much is all depend on how well you tune it. I would say also get the adjustable cam gear, and then have it dyno tune. For valve spring, all you need is to get the ITR intake valve spring and move your intake valve spring to the exhaust side. Also, you may want to reprogram your ecu to rise the rev limit to around 8500rpm to take full advantage of the cams.

Yeh, they are the same thing, but just don't expect you will gain 10-15hps just by putting the CTR cams on!!
You will need more than that to get the 10-15hps out of it!!

how much are sprockets and how much is it to get dyno tuned? dang, so much money for so little hp
that's the price i pay for wanting to go all motor

Plan on the money for the cams, ITR Valve springs, cam gears, and some fuel tuning. Dyno time as well. A good ECU program would help a lot as well. Plus can you install them yourself, or do you need a shop to do it. I would budget about $1000 for all of that, less if you can do the labor yourself.

Judging by your asking how much for cam gears, I would say that you won't be doing to work yourself. Here's a small price breakdown (Rough guess')
Cams-$325
Cam Gears-$225-300
ITR ValveSrings- $125
VAFC- $300
Labor- $300 (High guess)
Dyno- $200
Total- $1550. Not cheap huh?

Re: camshaft & valvetrain (itrhybrid)
To me it is totally worth it if you are planning to stay NA. What else would give you 10-15 hps for $1500 for NA? But if you are really serious about power, I would save up some more money and go with bigger cams like the TODA B or JUN 3. But to run those cams, you will need their valve spring ($350-400) and a reprogram ECU ($500-1000 depend if you have a OBD1 or OBD 2 ecu.) Then you will need a good JDM header to go with them, that will be another $500 to 1000. As you can see, going NA is a lot of money if you want more than just I/H/E.

Re: camshaft & valvetrain (Civic Hatch Boy)
Yup all motor is definately expensive.
Heres a good setup if you want to run fast. This is if you have a B18C1 motor of course.
Headwork $900
JunIII's $950
Jun valve springs $350
Titanium retainers $175
Adj gears $250-300
Skunk2 manifold $325
Decent intake $125
JDM 4-1 header (DC or ITR) $380-425
or race header $1000+
VAFC $300-325
Mugen chipped ecu $175 (if you already have a p-28)
harness converter $250 (if needed)
BnM regulator $75
fuel guage $40
Those are all ballpark figures. Some you can get for cheaper, some cost a little more. Thats the price you pay for all motor. And you still haven't even touched the block yet. Or the trans. You will also need a lightened flywheel, aftermarket clutch to hold the power, i recommend an lsd for your trans. I would also only run an Si or ITR trans for the shorter gears.
Dont forget labor costs for all that stuff, and also you will need lots of tuning. You could also run other cams like Toda or Spoon, but its all personal preference. I have all the stuff i listed on my car with a few small changes. Plus some other goodies to help make more power. I have spent way to much money. But hey it sure is fast. I can smoke a NSX, and keep up with a Viper. So i guess its all good.
I personally like all motor better, but its definately not any cheaper than turbo if you want to go fast. I could have easily built a low 11 second turbo car with all the money i have spent.
