That was very very confusing. Where is there a vac line on your turbo?
Do you mean pressure line? You want the pressure line (no vaccum in turbos) going to the side port on the tial. The top port should be open. You can also, instead, use a manifold pressure (vaccum) line, which would help to compensate for underboost due to a pressure drop across your ic.
If none of the above are your problem-- then either your gasket blew, or you didn't install the fire ring (metal piece that goes inside before installing).

Re: wastegate is opening at idle? (Johnyquest)
yea, pressure line, thats what i was referring too. im running no gasket but metal ring is there. nothing hooked to top of gate just to side. i know its hooked up right but it just seems to be open at idle because of exhaust coming out of dump tube. hope that helps
thanks

I don't use a gasket either, that's not your problem if exhaust is coming out of your dumptube. The fire ring is "that silver thing" (lol) that the valve actually seals up against. It goes in from the bottom, and without it you'd be able to see a gap that exahust would come out of at all times (idle included) if you installed it upsidown or not at all.
