Ssqv4 and FLUTTER??!!?!?!
Had an ssqv4 laying around for ages it is used pretty sure its genuine to. Anyway a friend asked if i wanted it done as he just got an ali welder.
After much hand cramps and bad words i got the c clip in.
Its installed right next to my inlet.
Tee'd of my vaccume hose from my wastegate.
Car runs fine picks up boost nice, just im getting turbo flutter along with the chirpy sound the ssqv likes to make (personally i love it). From the ones i've seen on youtube and at meets on other cars this isn't the correct thing it should be doing.
Anyone able to correct me if i've gone wrong or know whats up??

Re: Ssqv4 and FLUTTER??!!?!?!
you're fine. It flutters a bit because it is so sensitive to the blow off of just 1-2psi . It is NOT compressor surge. Many of the videos are wrong. The only video displaying actual compressor surge is if the flutter comes on AFTER the initial blow off. Only in that instance is it compressor surge.
And yes, I've owned 3 genuine HKS BOVs for the last 15 years. I simply changed the internal disk (They used to be an option to purchase) to make it sound a bit deeper.
So, yes, YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.

Re: Ssqv4 and FLUTTER??!!?!?!
Blow off valve sounds resonate based upon location of the valve, the material it is attached to (aluminum is a high resonator), and the spring strength.
