Smoke out of valve cover fitting...?

Smoke out of valve cover fitting...?
I hooked up my turbo kit and I'm currently running it off a basemap just so I could go and get a few things done before the tune.
I started to notice that my car is always smoking from under th hood. Today I pulled into my driveway and popped the hood and smoke is coming out of the fitting on the valvecover. I haven't got around to installing my catch can yet so I just put a filter on the valve cover...
Is this normal?

Not an exsessive amount but enough to just come out from under the hood and then dissapear. Is that what catch cans are for? I dont know if the ring is cracked, car still runs good.
Blow by is due to the pcv?

Do compression check there SHOULD NOT BE SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE VALVE COVER!, sounds to me like you may have cracked a ringgland on the piston, very easy to do if you were boosting smashing on your car with it UN TUNED. Is base timing set?
