if you listen to eggum's car in video's, it seems to whistle more than the average honda. i belive this is caused by the turbo spinning faster than normal. Eggum also uses a 35mm wg on the charge pipe. i would imagine this would help a big deal while on the line(anti lag, as well as in the 1st half of the track)

this is how it was explained to me.
when launching the car at high boost, it acts as a pop off valve. say you are launching at 65 psi and you run 80 psi normally, while you are at the line the turbo is making as much boost as it can, the wastegate is only letting x ammount of air into the engine. so when the clutch is let out, the gate closes, effectively negating turbo lag.
