that's what i figured....im only going for 300whp with a stone stock internal jdm gsr. which from what i understand is totally attainable and reasonable. next year may be a different story but for now i just want to get it going. i'd rather put money into other things right now than some fancy manifold that i dont need right now for my goals.

the manifold sits the turbo perfectly fine now

this weird v-band flange is your problem. its angled toward the block. im sure you could remove the AC bracket and be fine. and that v-band looks welded on so blame the tubo not the manifold

^^ I agree with that. That flange is what's f ucking everything up.

Problem is not ur manifold, problem is ur turbo. Try putting a t3/t4 on their and you will see the difference.

I vote change the manifold
That turbo is worth a whole lot more than the manifold any day. Think about it
I had the same mani on my gsr on my last setup mated to a t04e 57 trim. I hated it. WG needed an elbow it rubbed the hood [dc] every time u got on it, you could actually see it lifting the corner of the hood, when I added motor mount inserts it helped but still rubbed the bottom of the hood down to bare metal. I did have to shave the block a bunch as well. Also when the wastegate opened it would sound one cylinder **** and it did creep 1-3 psi every time. My spool time sucked *** to, why I don't know but now I have a top mount setup with a 60-1 .70 and its spool time is a whole lot sooner.
Just a thought,
DK

a new manifold may solve it but then the downpipe is gonna work either. so either new mani and dp. or leave the compressor on the passenger side and try to make the dp fit.

here it is with it turned around.....i still dont see how its not a manifold problem
</TD></TR></TABLE>
you should be able to make a downpipe fairly easy how it is in that picture, i know my downpipe fits perfectly

Re: (tegman23)
updated pics...from progress over the weekend. it's not the best job ever but it'll do until i really need/want more power out of the car. i cut up the downpipe i already had and got the piece of piping from a local shop and fabed it up and welded it.

Re: (white99gsr)
decent job on the DP. but i think the tial is gonna hit the hood on a gsr motor. might work with no top fitting and some webbing trimming
