Icon2 Turbo manifold question

Hi guys,

I'me having a problem at the moment fitting my Koyo rad due to the angle my turbo is at off the manifold. As i'me looking to upgrade my turbo anyway has anyone got any cast manifold recommendations that i won't be getting this problem with for the b series ? I have attached some pictures of my setup so you can see the problem i'me having with the down pipe and radiator.

Thank you
Rich

That looks like a DRAG manifold. It's designed to have the turbo turned around facing the other direction. Have you considered trying that?

Thank you for your response. Yeh i did but i'me sure i had the same problem or there was another reason why i couldn't. Does the inline pro or go autoworks cast manifolds have this problem ? or do the turbo's sit straight ?

Either one of those are not designed to face the compressor cover towards the driver side. You need to have it face the other direction anyway, so that the exhaust dump can run somewhat parallel to the exhaust downpipe. YOu're actually making your radiator work LESS efficiently with the configuration you have now.

Time to flip it, and have another DP made unfortunately.

Maybe you found that the compressor housing of the turbo hit the webbing on the block? You have the grind down the webbing on the block to clear for both the DRAG or RevHard/Inline Pro manifolds. It's really easy to do and no big deal at all.

I can't remember to be honest as it was a while back now when i fitted it all....

Thank you all for your replys. My mate is going to take the manifold off me for his build and i'me going to upgrade my manifold and and setup.

Hows this sound ?

Go autoworks cast manifold ( i have spoke to them about this and they now do a version that lets me run the turbo downpipe on the drivers side ), downpipe and screamer pipe package (thermal coated) with the Holset RS35 (HX35) with a 12cm turbine housing and high flowing turbine wheel.

The engine is just a stock B16 with CTR cams which i want to push to 400-450bhp. I'me going to rebuild/replace the block with forged internals if it fails.
