well ive always been told and have always ran synthetic oil in my cars. the other day i was talking to somebody and he said he runs conventional oil for the first 3k miles on a new turbo set up then switches to synthetic?? ive never heard this, ive always heard to run strictly synthetic. sounds like a stupid question but i was just curious? thanks guys

Default Re: Turbo GSR Oil question??

I recently had my motor rebuilt and was told the exact same thing, I think its more of a shake down thing because conventional oil is more gritty and will catch and clear out and loose particles in the engine during the break in period. I was also told to change my oil right after I drove my car out of the garage, then at 100 miles, 500 miles 1500 mile then go to my oil of choice at 3000. But it is probably different for a turbo setup but you never know
