Default Possible loss in power

Ok, to clearify a few things and delete some ideas you mite throw out rite off the rip-No boost leaks, or exhause leaks, all vacuum lines are good.

Ok heres the deal, I was using a ss auto crap mini ramhorn manifold, and currently switched to a cast iron log to eliminate my wastegate fallin off goin down the road. BUT, she just doesnt feel as stout as she has been. I havent checked the compression but im not getting any smoke or oil blown out of the valve cover, my turbo is not shot, minor shaft play, and car doesnt get into boost in first or 2nd. Maybe 5psi on occasion.

Now with the tubular mani, I was gettin full boost in 2 thru 5th, and 5-6psi in 1st, all day long.

Could this loss in power and slower spooling be caused by the cast iron log mani? Someone please help a guy out. ***** driving me up the effin wall!!!!!!!

going from a tubular manifold to a cast manifold can cause a pretty nice loss in hp depending on the setup. so yes that could the the reason.

I mean I dunno if its just me have gotten used to the power and it doesnt feel as nasty anymore, but I didnt think the mani would make a drastic decrease? that possible?

has the car been retuned to compensate for a different flowing/style manifold? or hopefully you at least have a wideband ont he car to see what a/f look like. typically a less flowing manifold will require less fuel in most cases and will cause the tune to richen up can will most certainly give aloss in power and decreased spool.

if you have a wideband on the car what does the a/f look like?

i mean i know your ss mani isnt the greatest thing. but it still would flow better than a cast mani.. evans did a comparison with a log mani and a ramhorn mani. 50whp difference in the 2. your situation could be between 20 and 50 hp. and with the cast mani you put on the car would most likely richen up. so thats a loss as well.

ahhhhh, gotcha. Ok yea. I dont have a wideband on the car, my buddy did tune my p28 with an ostrich and he has a "sniffer" that he bolted up to view a/f, and tuned me on the ss auto chrome mani. Supposed to be goin tomorrow to have him go thru my tune again. I thought that the log would cause it to spool quicker since the runners are shorter. ?????

Thats prob why I also noticed my fuel hand moves a lil quicker than it did before.

yes and no its spooling slower because the cast is a little more restrictive and its probably pretty rich on the tune side which is also the lack of power. once its retuned it should wake up
