Default GT3582R Turbo anyone use these on d16y8 motors?

Has anyone used this turbo on a y8? Stock internals.

That's kind of a waste to use a turbo that big with stock internals. Do you plan on building the engine later on down the road?

haha, good lucking spooling that up with a stock single cam. Something smaller would be more appropriate, like the GT28R as mentioned above.

I put down more power on my stock internal y8 using a t-25eclipse turbo @ 1.0bar then the guy who dynoed right after me with a T3/T4 57trim at 8-10psi.. Same motor..

Unless its highly modified, that big of a turbo is useless. Stock sohc vtec motors drop torque way before that turbo will start spooling. It would be useful for nothing besides bling/wow factor at a ricer gathering, at least on a stock sohc.

The accepted limit for sohc internals is 220-250whp. After that, you're on borrowed time. A .42/.48 turbo (50 trim T3) will give up to 250whp at 18psi, which is where it pushes the most air while still being w/in its 70% efficiency range.

haha this is my first post in FI in months. since i sold the civic and my s2k got hit i have nothing fun to post lol. that and work's been owning me.
