Exactly. It wouldnt make a difference anyway. Just more speculation from people who internet battle mute points to make them look smart.

I can name a handful of people who would post that its fake or its an untrue test blah blah or where is the 3rd party tests.....it never ends and its never enough. There is always a flaw in a dyno test.

Fact:
Skunk2 cares about racers
Skunk2 wants to move forward, not backward
Skunk2 wants to provide an assortment of products to accommodate street amateurs to race professionals
Skunk2 is a business and to be a successful business, you have to turn a profit big enough to not only keep up with todays technical standards but to create higher standards for the future. That's how business grows.

If all you want to do is complain or bitch, just stop posting. All the lame duck comments simply are not going to cut it anymore. The same crap you get from the same people is why HT turned into what it has and thats going to end.

If you got something to say you better damn well be able to support your comments and not get pissy when you get called out because I have no problem doing that with anyone no matter who you are. Whether it be a vendor, higher class members, other staff down to beginners.

I do not understand how throwing a street ultra on a mostly stock b16/b18c5 and b18c1 is going to bring out people talking ****. Skunk invests soo much time in making stupid newbie youtube vids and pointless pictures and they still cant just do this simple easy , straight forward task?

Take said cars, dyno them with pro series manifold... take off install with street ultra.. and post it on youtube for each of those three or even just 2 motors.. done end of story and now you have AT THE VERY LEAST something to go with the cheesy little pics

Its just gonna bring out more haters as it has proven in the past.

Youve already got big name racers running the ultra design manifolds. Everyone else will do the work for them. Im sure Mikey will be testing them and Im sure you will start seeing plenty of others.

kudos.. Im just interested in the street version. Im not hating, just would be nice to have something to go off of, as Im on a stock block with just bolt ons at the moment. The street would go nice with my ported head and cams waiting to be built.

This intake was literally just released. Give it some time and let the usual guys test things out. They will be able to help people determine how well suited they are for various setups.

Here's some picture of mine. I can't give any feedback since the motor this is going on is new and not assembled yet, I don't have any other manifold to compare it to.

Bagged stuff is what it comes with and all the loose parts are what came off when I took it apart. Allen wrench is mine, wasn't included.

Casting flaw causing gap. Hopefully id doesnt affect the seal in any way but I won't know for a few more months.

I'm probably gonna try and smooth out all the rough casting marks throughout the entire manifold. If anyone thinks this might be a bad idea or can give any insight to areas that could be left alone lmk. If you guys want more pics of specific areas lmk and I'll try and get them up asap.

Yeah, on a gsr head it looks to fit ok. Not sure how it'll match up on a b16 or ls.

Looking good! I'm still debating to get one or the performer x manifold.

The port design seems to be geared more for a b16/type R.. When they said " generous amount of runner material for porting" they werent lying.. Ports look smaller then a factory gsr port..

Small longer ports = power band shifted to the left Ever hear of the B16 ported intake AKA killer bee? I'm still not convinced out of the box that this street manifold version is the manifold to end all manifold tests. Only time will tell, it looks go awful but nobody said a fast car had to be a pretty car.

Smaller ports may increase velocity, but they lack volume. What good is velocity if its not being utilized with a proper transition?

Tl;dr
New product by a company some hate.
Could possibly out perform the standard that alot like to use.
Waiting for real world 3rd party testing.
??????
Profit?
Amidoingitright?

Lets see the testing that Mikeyspec,or others can provide, mikeyspec has done some great testing on headers for alot of us to help us make some decisions. I'm just showing pictures of what I recieved.

I like that there is "room for improvement" especially in this price range. Some might view it as a subpar product because the castings, but think about it. You can open it up and smooth it out to your liking or if you have the time to dyno it every step to suit your needs. But even if you don't have the time to dyno every step of hogging out this manifold it seemed geared towards a bolt on application.

I really want to see this unmodified vs a unmodified performer x on a bolt on gsr or type-r.
And then this cleaned up vs a modified performer x if possible, but I think the 3rd party testing is also limited. You need the dyno and the cars and the parts to test also money, and thats on the person doing it not a company, so whatever tests come out give those guys a break, they do what they can. Although it would also be great if skunk2 could've done it, but then it would've been their test so who do you believe?

And remember this is the "street manifold" if you want the plenum volume and runner lenght to make you every single horsepower for your money then maybe you should consider something else for a more drag oriented build.

At this stage the ultra series has seen some good gains. Will the street version do the same? Only time will tell. I'm already thinking of smoothing all the castings, but won't be able to tell you what it does since my engine is still being built and I'm just hoping this product will show me the kind of numbers I'm hoping to see from a simple street motor.

My enigne being assembled, Ls block with p30b16 pistons, gsr head with buddy club IV cams, and toda style header. Simple engine and a new product that I hope works well. If I see the same numbers or less than people were making 10yrs ago with this type of setup then elOel on me.

I guess skunk has been testing this manifold for quite some time. Just saw this, figured I would post it. Sheepey is running the smaller plenum Ultra race version..

Runners look descently long on the street vrrsion, I wonder if you can add a plenum spacer to get more plenum volume? Or if the plenum would hit on the current parts on the firewall with a spacer introduced? I myself am looking at getting this manifold while using a gsr head, but looks like the street version could use some more plenum volume. Especially for cylinder #4.

I agree. I was looking to replace my px with the ''street'' and I don't think the plenum is big enough. Its been confirmed with Skunk2 that you can't use spacers.

Yeah you could potentially make a spacer but your gonna have problems with clearance on the car. Its already pretty tight clearance as is.

Default Re: Skunk2 Ultra series "Street" manifold Pics

first impression of the manifold.

-The manifold came in late last week along with a 74mm skunk2 throttle body. Matching on the throttle body inlet is right on 74mm which is a plus if you are running a 74mm throttle body.

-I am running a b16 head and it needed a good bit of porting to get a good match with the head. I opted to use a hondata gasket with it being a perfect match 'out of the box' to my ported b16 head. So from looking at wishingiam pics vs his gsr head my b16 head had a heavy mismatch on the bottom of the port. So it looks like skunk2 put the manifold half way between a b16 and gsr porting wise. Additionally I opted to clean up the runners a bit as the casting is rough on the plenum side just like wishingiam's. I will post pics of this later when i swap out the manifold again for testing.

-Lastly the throttle cable bracket seemed to be sized incorrectly. If you look in the pic I ended up using a p73 bracket as that was the only way I could make it fit.

***First impression out with manifold butt dyno says I lost a little bottom end & throttle response but gained on top end and extended power band up about 1000rpm higher. Granted I change throttle body 68mm vs 74mm and this intake is short ram vs old intake cold air aem was too small diameter and would not fit with this setup as the throttle body sits lower and at different angle. When I make it to the dyno I will have other intakes lengths to test out so I can eliminate that factor. Use this information at your own discretion but this is just my first impression of the manifold. The pro series fell flat after 8500rpm where as this keeps pulling up to 9500rpm. This manifold isn't for a stock motor. You better plan on reving well into 9k range if you wanna take advantage of this manifold

Room? And they said tucking the bay was pointless. Lucky for me with a IACV relocated underneath and the brake lines behind the firewall I have plenty of room for a long runner custom manifold :p
