I'm about to redo my ls/vtec setup, it currently has ported b16 head, itr cams and skunk2 tuner series valvetrain, and bottom end has itr pistons. I'm changing pistons to p30's and going with pro2's and pro series valvetrain. I want go with a 2 layer headgasket instead of an OEM 3 layer to bump compression up more. I was looking at the mugen or spoon 2 layer but i'm not sure if I can use either since i have a non-vtec block.

i don't see why not - a non vtec one wouldnt work on a vtec head but the other way round should work
