im gonna be running 13.5:1 on 94 octane pump gas, tunes with uberdata...as long as you got good engine managment, and a good tuner, you'll be fine (this comming from 1 of the best on h-t) (not me someone else lol)

yes it's possible i ran mine on 93... it's just not worth it in my opion cause you are holding back alot of power still.. when i put in race gas i made over 20 extra horse power depending on the octane

Yes, its possible with 93-94 octane. Usually people say you can't do it because everybody always thinks that the world is limited to 91 octane. Even though some of us have the option of getting 93-94 octane at the pump depending on where we live.

look to the dynamic comp ratio.
it will be one of the big factors here.
big cams with big overlap will definetly help a lot.

Lash adjustment can play a big part too

Without ignition timing control it will be difficult for your to properly tune the car with 13:1. You can compensate by increasing cam overlap but you are bleeding away power that way.

If you spend some time/money and get some sort of tuning solution with ignition control, ie: Crome, Hondata, you will be able to extract a considerable amount more power.

My $.02

Why a 13-1 steet motor? You are i tankful of bad gas away from failure. Go for it , I will rebuild it at a nominal cost.

first off i can build my motor just fine thank you second i was wanting to run it on pump gas so i can use it daily granted race day it will be c16 and and a lot more timing but if i run it on pump gas and retard the timing some will it be cool to drive like a normal ride

i dont see why not, just make sure you have a good tuner! my motor isn't quite as high comp. as yours will be (12.2:1) but i had it tuned on pump (91 octane) with a vafc and it still made 207 whp doing only a/f tuning with 10 deg. of timing, and no cam adjusting

what octane is avalable to u? and as for afc...u may wanna switch to hondata/chrome/uberdata/aem...whatever...i don;t think the vafc will be accurate enough to get you going safely with that compression and pump gas

to add to what 92typer said , yes i would use bigger cams to not only blead off cylinder psi but to let as much air in as possible to create a better breathing motor . im not gonna go into physics but by bleading off the presure from the cyliners your gonna lower chances of detonationn under load and not have to take out as much timming , think of it this way some street bikes are running high 12:1 - 13:1 cr's and they run on 91 right ? they rev 13-14 K also cus they have the cams to let them breath thus releasing alot of psi on the lower rpms also . moral of the story map this motor out whats your goal in the end then build it to suit , we could all tell you the way to build your motor but then it wouldnt be your build , but to make this a lil easier just make sure you tune it well and run some bigger cams :0 mmmmmmbaaahhhh my $0.02
