Default b16 sleeved 85mm bore + type r crank and rods = high reving 2L engine?

i calculated that a sleeved b16 block with a 85mm bore with a type r crank would equal to 1979cc (2L)

so my question is. by keeping the type r crank and rods, the 2L b16 engine would still be able to rev up to 8500rpm. is this correct? the r/s ratio is still the same just bigger displacement.

dont ask why not just sleeve the b18c block. again its for my project for the "riced sleeper"

with an ITR crank in a b16 block your going to have to have custom rods.

A b16b is the same height as a b18 block so in theory you could use the internals of the b18c's in a b16b block and have somewhat of a sleeper... Or if you bore that same b16b block out to 84 mm and use the itr or gsr crank with their rods you would have the same 2.0l you would have if you were to use a GSR or ITR block. This only holds true of the b16b as it is a destroked b18 where as the standard b16a is the standard issue 1.6l

yes, the b16a has a shorter deck height, therefore you will need shorter rods than the itr to make it possible, or else your pistons will be above the deck height

you could use b17 crank and rods, and attempt to get close to 2.0l

All you would need for this to work is a set of custom pistons like the ones on offer from Tech43Racing, I believe they have a compression height of 0.851". Oh and you will need to rebush the small end of yor rods too, but that's all. He designed it for LS crank and rods but ITR parts will also work, with slightly less cc's and CR as a result of the shorter stroke of the ITR crank. Will give you a killer sleeper setup

.....does this mean you're looking for a "perfect" 1.75 r/s ratio out of a 2L block?

If so, I'm interested.....!

so the perfect sleeper setup would be for civic type r head + civic type r tranny + civic type r block sleeved and bored to 85mm along with crank and rods of gsr/type r to make 1979cc and also r/s ratio to handle high reving 2L engine?

but a type r/gsr crank is 87.20mm, not 89. so along with the same type r/gsr r/s ratio with a larger bore, it should turn out to be a high revving b20. right?

yeah, using the b16b with gsr crank and rods bored to 85, is basically a ITR motor bored over,

the only advantage is telling people that you have a 1.6

like i said if you guys are so worried about R/S ratio which really isnt that serious of matter even though it counts and want to fool people into thinking you have a 1.6

use b17 crank and rods in a b16a and bore it over to 85mm, the displacement should be 1.9XX

one of the most important part of having an engine MAKE power at high rpms is having a head with the right cams that flow at the RPMS that you need to make the power
