omniman's b16a w/ TECH43 82mm stroker piston kit.
omniman built a 1880cc b16a road race shortblock for one of his customers, using my 82mm stroker piston kit.
He wasn't given much info yet, as the team is too busy right now. What I do know is this:
the compression is roughly 11.9/12.0 to 1
omni will find out more info, and hopefully post dyno graphs.
omniman only built them a shortblock, and shipped it out. he did not tune it, and they did everything else.
with the cam gears at zero, and running out of injector (14.5 a/f)....
it made 224 whp.
itr head milled .020
skunk2 stage 3 cams
hytech header
v-afc
stock injectors
not sure on intake manifold
.040 cometic gasket.
it should see 230+ whp with the right injectors and additional tuning.

that was more than a stroker kit, because stretching the stroke out to 82mm isnt gonna make it an 1880cc 4 cylinder. even millin 1mm out of the bore wont make it 1880cc, let alone much over 1700cc. simple math.
so i call BULLSHIT!
what is the rod length? couldnt be longer than 132 unless they are really compressing the ring landings, jeopordizing heat control/expansion. and thats with the piston coming flush, given the comp height is 30mm.
only catalog racers believe this ****. you want an actual race engine builder to buy it, put out some more facts than what you have, so i can verify what youre sayin is true.

DAMN..I'VE BEEN UNCOVERED...you've figured out that i'm a liar! ****!
you know what..YOU'RE RIGHT. an 82 stroke wont yield you 1880cc..
BUT AN 82 BORE WITH A 89 CRANK WILL JABRONI!!
maybe YOU should double check your #'s before you pop off. i'll quote you're ever so sharp comment:
it couldnt be longer than 132? hmm...
ITS 137mm JACKASS..its a stock length LS rod. but i guess according to you..i couldnt fit all that extra 5mm's in right. WRONG.
ever heard of a button?...howabout a .851 compression height? get with it.
well...tell me if these are enough facts mr. "ENGINE BUILDER"

an 82mm piston! WHAT A CRAZY CONCEPT! i mean..all those "engine builders"..when they hear "82mm"...they always assume its stroke.
who the hell would think of using a 1mm oversized piston, WITH a 89mm crank. thats insane!

WOW..an wrist pin location that is moved up. WHAT A CONCEPT TO GRASP! it must be photoshopped.

a oil ring support button! what the hell is that? you can't do that!

look at that...he makes it "look" like the oil ring will work as well. what a sham!

he probably bought empty boxes...just to look like a "catalog racer".
hmm...lets do some math.
half of a ls stroke: 3.504 divided by 2 = 1.751
ls rod length: 5.394
TECH43 82mm comp height: .851
EQUALS: 7.996
OH WOW..WHAT DO YOU KNOW...ITS A B16A DECK HEIGHT!!
(its gotta be a scam, that tech43 is such a kidder)
good thing we had "callmejesus" and "chad" around to uncover this conspiracy.
i'm glad that we have "engine bulders" like this at our disposal.
heres my favorite:
you're right. my bad. myself...or OMNIMAN....are not competent engine builders. my bad.
from now on, submit all engine building questions to "callmejesus"
he's the man!

now that's what I like to see
You supported every thing he said was wrong with actual info and pictures on how you developed it to the correct specs!
Might have to look into this stroker piston kit in the future.
Thanks

Steve, can you get them pistons in different bore sizes? I have a crower stroked 2ltr b16 with 89x84 combo, but the pistons are junk from overheating.
Sweet numbers on the motor too btw..

yeah t bone..no problem.
but these are for a ls length rod, i think crower uses a shorter rod. either way, i can set you up.

Steve you don't build engines your just a backyard mechanic, like those catalog racers right?
You know what maybe "callmejesus" should call you JESUS

why does everyone insist on increasing the stroke to 89mm on a b16? leave it SHORT, increase piston size for instance,
im using an 84 mm piston stock stroke pushing out almost 200whp
imagine stroking it via something like the eagle crank with an 85mm piston and an 84 mm stroke you could achieve a 1.9L without ruining the fast reving action of the motor.... with a long duration high lift cam in the 9000 rpm range a shorter stroke will benefit more, if your trying to make a drag motor this is ideal, if your describing a road race type motor a longer stroke would be better but why spend the money on stroking a b16 when you should start out with the 89mm LS crank in an LS motor. just my 2 cents.
