Default Anyone have a Tech43 B16/Ls stroker motor

I am looking into doing this to my B17 & am just looking for alittle feed back I found several people saying that they ordered the Aris pistons but the only one post about useing them & it was posted by Tech43.
I am interested in the 85mm set but I just don't know if I can justify the extra 1000.00 to sleeve the block.
But I am interested in any info on real world use of the 82mm or 85mm pistions.
TIA

There was one individual who purchased it that I know of on these boards. His screen name was something like Cement-Filled EK or what not. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything else regarding his setup just that it was purchased along with some LS rods and a LS crank. There was also a thread on here that Steve started about how Omniman purchased one of his kits for use on a B16A2 that was rebuilt by another shop. However it quickly degenerated into a major name calling contest and flamewar and was locked down by Lip. The customer supposedly made 225whp on that setup with 82mm pistons. I myself wanted to go with that kit in 82mm trim when they first came out, but my wife didn't feel comfortable in letting me pull my block so I had to pass on that (especially after a major fiasco I had getting a bad B20B block for a B20VTEC I wanted to build.) I've always been on the lookout for someone who has purchased it because it seems to have mad potential for us B16A2 owners (and you B17 guys too I guess .) Try doing a search for "TECH43" in the search engine and I think you will be able to find those threads.

I did search. The lack of info is why I asked the question. I saw Tech43's post about Omniman. I would rather have some feedback from end users & a dyno scan would be nice.

i'm also interested in this setup............

it actually works out pretty good for those guys like me, who already have a b16 swap and are looking to do an ls/vtec build up. the cost of finding a good ls block and actually doing the vtec head conversion pretty much out weighs the higher cost of pistons and a little machine work. Plus you get to say "hey, it's just a b16"

bump for tech43's b16 stroker pistons!!

xtrac1 I already did that. Waiting on a reply. But I also want to hear from end users. Have you ever had someone that sells an item that you were looking at buying tell you bad things about it?

I'm eager to see some more dyno's too.

I've ordered a 85mm B16A shortblock, portflow head, and a ton of other stuff from Steve. Trouble is, I'm based in the UK and Steve is really busy at the moment so it will probably be a while before it's installed. The shipping alone must be giving him nightmares!

I'll be sure to post the results once I get it on the dyno though.

i think the tech43 piston is good, BUT wouldnt you still need a brace and everything for your b16/b17 block because of the rod angle? your basically taking LS internals and slapping them into a b16/b17 block, why is no one talking about the extra prices to get a girdle, new pickup, new pan, new baffle & align bore the crank bores? not hating on it but just something to think about
