Default Raise compression?

How much will only using one or two of the 3 head gaskets raise compression by? Will it be noticable and worth it? the motor is completly stock gsr.

You'll see an approximate +0.3 by switching to a 2-layer gasket. Whether or not that's "worth it" is mainly up to you. I certainly wouldn't pay someone to do the installation, but if I was doing it myself I would consider it worthwhile.

Probably just as noticable as putting on an Unorthodox underdrive pulley on...if that.

I would definitley try it tho.

If the head is already going to be off, I would definitely install the 2-layer while you're at it.

You want to make sure the head and block mating surfaces are really flat so that it seals correctly because there is a lot less material and more of a chance of blowout. You also have to be more careful about torquing the head bolts down to ensure a proper seal. Also make sure you use new head bolts or ARP studs.

Personally, I wouldn't ever mess with a headgasket to raise or lower compression.
