You can get a thicker head gasket.

If I am not tripping, shouldn't thicker head gaskets lower compression????

You can mill the head, but why. You can only mill/deck a head so much. You can get a single layer head gasket, but why. This will only decrease reliablility in the long run. The few ways you can raise compression without changing pistons will not give a big enough gain to really notice it.

Yes you can.

Flat faced valves lower the cc volume somewhat and will boost compression slightly as well. All these tricks together can yield right around a full point(including a mild milling job) on a B18C, that IS enough to be noticable.

Plus the aftermarket valves that bump compression. I see nothing wrong w/ any of these ways, but w/ decking/milling, you better not change your mind afterwards!

dont forget that after you mill the head or deck the block
timming on your cams will be different
so take it to a professional
otherwise you are going to overheat

check this site

http://www.c-speedracing.com on the how to section plenty of info for you

After going through all the trouble of milling, changing valves and so on, he might as well just change the pistons. Also, I don't think that the valve change will have a very big difference in compression. But the thinner head gasket will yield a noticable change ( thought about it after posting initially ) I talked to REV about their flat valves and they said that they would yield about a .1 change in compression on a gsr head. Good luck on your project
