Pulling to the left when accelerating after axle install - Please Help
I replaced the driver side axle on my 98 GSR today due to a torn CV boot on my old axle. The install went fine, but when I went out for a test drive I noticed quite a bit of pull to the left when accelerating in any gear. When coasting in gear or neutral there is no pull. I have checked that the new axle is inserted all the way into the intermediate shaft, and the tie rod ball joint looks ok. I have searched and found a couple posts describing exactly the same symptoms but none with any resolutions. Can anyone think of anything else to check before I return this axle and start over again with a different one?
Thank you.
Thank you.

What axle did you get? If autozone napa etc then another bad axle. Spend more on a set of raxles etc and you will be fine.

I've had similar situation with axles from advanced auto parts.. If you did use the cheaper parts store axles.. it's possible you received a defective axle.. or it's possibly out of balance.. just my .02

Could be a bad axle. But did you tighten the axle nut completely after the install?

You most likely need to get a wheel alignment.
Or you damaged the lower control arm bush.

Thanks for the replies. The axle I got was a "new" GSP axle from Advance Auto Parts. Should I return this thing for another GSP or possibly get their re-man axle which is some other off brand?

Return it and get a decent one. If you would have searched you would have found numerous topics regarding axles.

Resolved. I ended up returning the "new" GSP axle and getting a Powerline reman axle. After installation the pulling to the left when accelerating is gone. Therefore, I either reassembled something wacky the first time, or the axle was in fact faulty. I hope this helps someone in the future. Thanks to those who helped out.
