Default Immobilizer System light won't stop blinking...

So, I think this may be what is causing my car to not start. I noticed while checking the relays in the car that the immobilizer light blinks in the ON (II) position. From what the manual says, I'm fucked.

Does the key need to be re-coded? Need to buy new keys? Anyway to reset this system.

I'm glad my car came with this system to help protect it from being stolen, but dammit.

Any ideas?

Fixed

Have you tried using a spare key? If it doesn't start you'll probably have to get your key's reprogrammed with the code thats in the ecu, and the only way to do that is to bring the key and car to the dealership.

Would this be caused by a bad ICM?

Just get a obd2-obd1 wiring harness with an obd1 ecu and use your key and then your car will start

I already have that, just not installed yet. I'm about to setup a custom s/c, but still have a few more parts to buy. Just need to make it a few more weeks on obd2.

i lost my key once on my 2000 gsr....my spare key wouldn't start....i later found out that the 99-01 model has that anti-theft immobilizer ...only the key with the chip (has to be the right code for the ECU) can start the car...without it your fuel pump won't start.....a locksmith came and made me two new chipped keys and also change the old code to a new one..for about 120 bucks....if low on budget...ask around for an 0bd2 to 0bd 1 conversion harness...an 94-95 ecu and change the distubutor...it should start the car.......SSSSHHHHH...that how the expert steal these cars
