HELP hesitation and low idle $#@@#!!
Okay,
My car has been having problems for a couple months now. It hesitates and stutters in all gears. Kind of the feeling you get when your plugs are bad. I have my foot on the accelerator and the car just stops accelerating for a minute, and maintains speed. Then it jerks and speeds up again. thought it was electrical, but now i dont know. Some days it is really bad from when you put it in gear all the way up to 4,XXX rpm. Other days it runs ok.
Even in 5th on the highway, you can feel that it is a little jerky sometimes. It also idles low a lot of the time. Like 300 or 400 rpm at idle.
I took it to the shop . . . they think my sensors are ok. then they tell me it could be a tight valve. I don't know. It looked like the guy didn't even take the valve cover off.
95 gsr with 65K miles
mods: 4-2-1 header, carsound, magnaflow exhaust, cheap intake, copper plugs
things fixed so far:
carbon cleaned the top-end and the throttle plate
New plugs
New wires
New cap and rotor
New fuel filter
had a valve adjustment at 55k, i might need another
Reset ECU (just for good luck. didn't do anything)
Please, please help!! any suggestions would be great.

Mine did the exact same thing, only difference was I had a CEL. I think it was because of my O2 sensor. Was going to bring it into Acura, but went away a few days later by itself. Kinda weird.

Re: HELP hesitation and low idle $#@@#!! (TurboTurtleGSR)
I'm thinking maybe my o2 sensor is going bad, but I haven't had any CELs.
Guy at the Honda shop said it was probably a tight valve. My uncle who is a mechanic says "yeah right . . . maybe".
Anyone else had this type of problem??

timing could be off a tooth, had a cheap shop do my timing on my old automatic...it was slow and luggish afterwords. I brought it to acura, they took a poleroide of it to show the other shop, and it was off a tooth

Re: HELP hesitation and low idle $#@@#!!
hmmm . . .
the timing hasn't been set in forever. I thought about setting it, but the car has to idle at 750 +or-50 rpm, according to the manual. Since my car idles way low, I'm afraid to mess with the timing.
