Come on start you ****!!!
2001 LS. So the last week or so I have had some intermittent problems. A couple of times when I started the car the idle went straight up to about 2800-3000 rpm. After I put it into drive it went down to normal. Then this morning at a red light in drive, the idle was fluctuating between 600-800, at a rough idle, but when applied gas drove fine. Then low and behold after work today go to start it, it turns over and goes for about a second, then dies. I then continually try to start it and it, chuga chuga chuga chuga, but wont get going, and is now stuck at my office, awsome. Something possible with fuel pump? ideas? Thanks

Went back to work this evening to get a tow truck, what do you know starts without any problems. Drove it home everything was beautiful, killed it and started it about ten times with no issues. I know that It will happend again, so something did not go out for good, but something has got to be seeing its last days, its only a matter of time when it dies when im on my WAY to work. ugh

It might be the starter and it might be an alternator.Try this: With the vehicle running, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. If the vehicle keeps running, the battery could be bad. If the vehicle dies, the alternator is probably bad. If everything is good then it could be the starter.

Shut off car. Turn on headlights to remove surface charge on battery then turn headlights back off. Connect multimeter to battery. Do you have at least 11.9v. If not bad cell in battery. While holding multimeter to battery have someone start the car. How low dose voltage get. Dose it drop bellow 5v. If yes bad cell or low charge on battery. Smart battery testing.

I don't feel like it's any of those....the car turns over so its not the starter, the ive got plenty of juice in the battery, headlights are bright, radio on while engines off no issues, the car turns over.....it just wasn't firing...
