My car is throwing code 7 TPS - throttle position sensor
My 2000 civic EX car is throwing code 7 TPS - throttle position sensor. Does anyone know how to fix that. What could be wrong?
plug wire could have become damaged
maybe VAFC/SAFC was installed inproperly
ZEX wire was installed wrong/incorrectly
maybe your tps sensor just failed and you need to replace it.

Well, you probably don't have a warranty anymore. The cheapest thing would first be to check the wiring and connector.....it's on your Throttle body (BTW) and then clean the connector. Then get a votlmeter and test the output to what the Haynes/Helms manuals say.

Check engine light came on when I took off valve cover to check if my timing is ok. So I don't know what I did wrong.
But I checked plug wire they are good
Can some one tell me where is tps sensor is located at. My friend got same car so I could replace it and check.

Spade already answered that question.
Its on the back side of your throttle body.

thats my throttle body with the intake arm removed.
if you look at the 3 wires connected to the throttle body (yellow, green, red) that is the TPS.
check the tps, by taking a multimeter and make a small incision in the middle wire with a razor blade to expose wire. and check the voltage of the tps by connectiong black to ground, and red to the exposed wire.
with the key on but the car off, you should get about .32 - .45 fully closed throttle. then slowly open the throttle with your hand and the voltage should increase slowly until WOT being at about 4.5v.
if you open the throttle and the voltage doesnt increase your tps is bad.
