decision making help! which motor should i put in my civic?
I have a 92 civic lx (4dr) manual.
i've read quite a few posts on motor swapping etc which ones are good etc.
but i still have a few questions about putting a stronger motor in my car.
from what i've read the 3 best motor upgrades would be either a b16a, integra type-R, or h22 motor.
am i right so far?
i also know the b16a is the cheapest of the 3. but by how much? anyone know the prices of the 3 so i can compare? and is this motor powerful enough that i will notice a big difference from the stock motor?
and the h22 is the most powerful. but i heard it's the hardest to install and also can mess up the car's handling/suspension a bit and cornering abilities.
so is it worth doing that upgrade? and how hard really is the install? (like do you need a whole bunch of modifications done and how much can this cost?)
and finally, which swap would be the most reliable?
i'm not trying to turn my car into a drag racer. all i want is more power at an affordable price without sacrificing honda reliability.
also, i wont be adding other things to boost the motor (nos, turbos etc) later on. just thought to let you know if that influences your suggestion for which motor to take. I just want a quicker car without a lot of hassle because i'm not a pro at all this upgrading stuff.. yet
so please any comments/suggestions are welcome!
thanks a lot!
