Default is my ecu gone. do i need a new one or is it more...help

I was out racing at tire rack today. I was getting ready to launch the car, looking down to see what my rpms were. The tach. for no reason was going from 1-4000 rpms. you could tell by the sound that the motor was only going about 1,000 the tach was just going crazy and was wrong. 1/2 way in my lap the car dies on me. I got to start it again and it idles really ruff. evey time the rpms drop there is a switching noise coming from the inside fuse box. It sounds like a relay switching back and forth. then it dies about 8 sec later. about every other try i give it i see the Speedometer run to about 60 mph what could this be. is it my ecu? And now here i am with my car towed home. Please help. if it is my ecu can i take it out to be tested? or dose it have to be in the car?

that really really REALLY sounds like a wire grounding out somewhere, trust me on this one, i had half of my harness grounds jumping to the transmission and the RPM's went back and forth and back and forth, and then whenever i touched the gas it dropped to 0 and shut off.... check your grounds mang

if you want to test your ecu, simply unplug it, and give it to another honda/acura owner to try. Depending on your year and their year vehicle though.

if a wire is grounding out it's not going to start... period

check every ground and on the way to checking those grounds make sure there aren't any other exposed wires
