The ssautochrome TURBO thread.
Ok this is not a thread about their manifolds, wastegates, bov, etc...
Now that we know what it isn't is...
Is anybody running their turbos? They have two, the T70 and the T3/T04b both are ungodly cheap and I already read the big thread about how the ford guy got screwed so i don't really want to hear that again. People that actually have them on their car, how is it, how long have you been running it, and what problems have you had with it?

they have two versions of the turbo. Both I have used and tried.
The master power version that comes out of brazil works flawlessly. Ran the GT45 as well as the super T70 which is very commmonoly sold on ebay.
Then the SSautochrome.Stone Mountain Racing aka t70 i ran for about week and bearings were tosted to start off with. They refunded the money but still i would stay clear of the stone mountain versions. They are knockoffs off the brazil units.

the stone mount racing units have a tag on the actual compressor housing.
The Brazil Master power has it on the turbine side .
You can get the master power list from here to match up part numbers.

A bunch of honda I know bought one and installed and the longest lasting turbo out of five was six weeks. All of them the seals blew out and bearings took a crap, I before putting mine on went ahead and rebuilt so I wouldnt have that problem. I will speak first hand that there t3t4 sucks *****
have you had any problems sense you rebuilt it? And where did you send it to get rebuilt, or what did you buy? How long have you been running it.

I bought a "Stone Mountain Racing" DSM T25 on Ebay once, from SSAC.
It must have been one of the knockoffs, because the casting quality was terrible. The compressor housing had a much smaller opening than stock because the aluminum was poured in the mold too thick. Same problem with the CSRA, to the point that I don't think oil could possibly get through the feed port. The bolt holes were crooked, the turbine wheel was cast, not forged, and worse of all, the turbine housing was made with some terrible metal. I don't know if it was ferrite or perhaps nodular iron, but it actually fractured in two when I tried to thread in the studs.
But I sent it back, and SSAC promptly gave me a refund. I even kept the nice adjustable wastegate actuator that came with it. That is why I still do business with them. I don't think they still sell that particular turbo.

Yeah I got the t3/t04e for my prelude and it boosted to 5psi for about 3 seconds, and it was toast, so I really need to get a hold of them so they can give me one that works, bastards,
yeah...i believe that i was the first on H-T to buy one of the first SSAutochrome t3/t4's. i had it on for about a week...it ran strong and fine...then as i tried flooring it on the highway(i was only boosting 7 psi), it just wouldn't boost anymore. pulled over and took a look...couldn't find anything. drove home and took the turbo off...sure enough the damn thing was shot!
my other buddy on here lilkong, his brother ran two different SSA turbos and both blew on him as well...those things suck *****...
but i haven't tried the other turbos which everyone else speaks of...i don't think i ever will since i wouldn't want to go through all that trouble again.

awesome, thanks for sharing your experiences, hopefully this will prevent others from getting screwed, I haven't heard a single positive thing yet. And when I searched the forum, there weren't any other threads about these turbos
I think I will ditch mine, I was going to install it this weekend
If anyone has anything else to add lets here it, maybe if they can be rebuilt or repaired?

Do yo know how to get in contact with them, because they sure as hell don't answer emails, and i can't find a number for them on ebay.
a guy I know had told me he knew of a few people that were running these ssac turbos successfully. I was actually considering one. I guess its a good thing I read this thread on them

I have been running their t3/t04e for about 6 months with no problems. Boosting between 7psi to 12psi on boost controller.
