Saw my first junkyard turbo setup...in a carolla!
Here it is. A guy tha t goes to school with my friend built it. It isn't really fast, but works well. It is using a volvo BOV, and a saab turbo.
It is on a 1.6 liter...boost hits at about 3500..peaking at 10psi and holding 8.

Hmmm..not sure on the size. My friend told me it was a straight T3...
Total cost was around $800.
One funny thing is that the car is actually shared by the kid, and his dad!

That turbo is up-side-down, how is it draining? The drainage port is on the top!

theres a guy in town that has a turbo corolla that he custom made from starion turbo (not sure what size) and intercooler. all the piping was customized. interesting.... yet, when he took it to the track, he ran 15.8 at 9psi.

SlprTeg_ ...... guys that know what they are talking about are being kind enough to answer your questions. After the last few questions you asked I'm surprised anybody listens to you at all!

Yea, the car isn't really fast. It it only a 1.6...and with the turbo it does have some tq. I took the owner for a ride in my car(only has a b16a2 swap), and he thinks I should be able to take him. I say it would be an interesting race.
He says from now on every car he gets is going to have a turbo from now on!

The turbo's bearing housing return line is facing down. You are looking at the feed line there on top. You can rotate each housing to your liking(compressor, bearing, turbine).
