I would like to apologize to Tim @ turboelements.com. I wasnt trying to say he sold me a fake turbo. I was wondering why "garrett" wasnt on it. From my understanding i bought a GT35/67R which is a Garrett turbo (I never thought it was a fake). So it should have Garrett all over it (would look cooler that way). I never said that I got a fake turbo from Tim. I guess I should of explained my point of view before i posted up this topic.

All I can say about Tim & turboelements.com is that they have really great customer service. Hell, I ordered the turbo and a top mount from him. Amazingly 2 days later the turbo was right at my door.

So the conclusion to this thread is that, Garrett turbos dont have to have "Garrett" all over it to be a turbo from Garrett.

Whats the difference? If you are concerned about the authenticity of the product and IF they are a stand up sponsor then they'll give you an answer.

simple enough.

All the Garretts ive seen have the tag.

seems like you got a valid reason to be paranoid. use an oil restrictor and the turbo will be fine whether its chinese or garrett.

Yeah, their older housings didnt have GARRETT On it, they had AiResearch. The more I look at your pic, the more it reminds me of a chinese turbo.

That looks exactly like my Garrett T3 60-1. As for your concern about the exhaust discharge flange...mine looks the exact same way.

The only differences I can see are:
1.) Mine is not "buffed" like yours is on the exhaust manifold flange.
2.) The third picture down looking at the compressor at an angle....mine does not have that smooth-ish plate. Mine just has webbing type material there.
3.) My oil return flange is slightly more oval-ish.

All in all, I would say that is a Garrett....and definitely not an SSAC like previously stated haha.

looks exactly like a TO4R "T67" compressor wheel(s housing), 35R turbine wheel and GT bearing housing.
i see these daily and there really is no mistaking these wheels visually.

I had the same problem when i bought my turbo from u guys, U advertise the turbos as real garetts and in the picture u can see clearly that there stamped. A bit of false advertisemnt in my opinion.

Considering there are several kits from XS Power/SSAC. Though it looks like the same turbo a kid installed on his H22a a few months back.

OP, if you paid over a grand for the turbo, and it came in a box with no info other than a reciept, i think you might have been taken advantage of. Check with the people you purchased from, and get back to us.
