*PICS* ebay intake install/review *PICS*
Took about 15 minutes to put it in, seems to actually have a decent filter! Pretty good welds on the nipples, just had to sand the inside on one of them..
OH MAN is this thing LOUD, and I noticed a little bit of an improvement across the board... after driving it for an hour or so, i pulled over to see how hot things were under the hood since it was a short ram intake.. Near the filter, since its beside the battery, actually isnt hot at all, but up towards the TB side of the pipe, its pretty hot, so i ordered some black header wrap and I am going to wrap the pipe in that, 1) to get ride of some of the heat, and 2) to cover up the polished finish(dont much like it)..
I did some tests with Gtech, and I cant really compare to before the intake because my transmission fluid was so bad I couldnt shift into third at high rpms, so my 0-60 time was awful in the 8's.. since then i put in amsoil 2000 series, did the coolant bypass mod, and the EGR block off, as well as a catch can, new fuel filter, plugs and wires(plugs were so corroded they measured at .60+ gap!).. so im sure all of it made a HUGE difference haha.. well I only did two runs.. the first wasnt that great, didnt launch good and burned out alot of first gear.. got like 7.8xx, second one was decent, could have shifted faster and launched at a higher rpm and slipped the clutch a little more, but I still got a pretty good 7.24!!! I am pretty confident I could knock on 6 seconds door, if not make it to the 6's with some practice..
For the $40 I spent, I am very pleased..

i bought a ebay intake with a blitz style cone and its badass, better quality than i expected from an ebay intake. i ordered a test pipe from ebay too so i hope it fits well with the Apexi World Sport II cat-back i ordered! (also ordered kyb agx ajustable shocks and neuspeed race springs
). everything should be here y friday (900 bucks) .

Sweet man....To me, the intake piping doesn't really matter, as long as you have a good filter, then things should be okay....You might want to paint the pipe with high temp paint, but you also said you were going to get the wrap, so that should probably do just as good

just saying that with the money spent on the intake itself and heatwrap (heat wrap isn't cheap) you could've gotten something better. just my honest opinion.
you also get what you pay for, and dissipation levels may be lower with that material. cheap out now, and your car may cheap out on you later.

yea, I usually think that way, but when it comes to a piece of metal tubing, I dont really care lol, I would have gotten heat wrap for whatever intake I got anyways..
I do take very good care of my car, I have been workin on this thing for WEEKS lol.. thanks for all the positive(and negative
) comments!
*EDIT: As for the gtech, I got mine on ebay as well, for $45 shipped brand new, lol.. It seems to be pretty daggon accurate so far, even on my friends 450 whp s/c Cobra, It did however estimate his trap speed about 10 mph to high, at 127 mph lol.. I'ts usually within 1/10th or dead on when it comes to my times, but a little high on the traps... well worth the 45 bucks!

whatever man ohh yea I am cool and pay $150+ for an AEM/INJEN intake for some pretty color and what not. It's piping for God's sake!!!! How different can it be? Really if there were that much hp difference between an ebay intake and an AEM/INJEN intake then I would buy one. But until I see enough of a difference to spend another 100+ on an intake I will stick to my ebay. Thank you I am done! I like alcohol!
well as for dyno comparison of Ebay noname special and an Akimoto with K&N filter on my h22. the ebay beat it just after vtec and at the top but really the difference was negligable. but who the hell cares? The filter is he biggest thing that you are testing not a similat 3inch aluminum tube. Anyway congrats on the purchase...

Define better.
It does a better job? Do a dyno of an AEM intake and a 3" ebay intake; you'd be surprised.
It is made better? Honestly have you ever seen an intake FAIL? They are made basically the same; there is no real difference.
It looks better? Aside from the brand name sticker, that's subjective. If you're spending you money on looks, then this is the wrong website for you.
Congrats on the car and mods man, lookin good!

Hurray for ebay....well for metal pipes....dont trust it for major stuff. I like to call my ebay stuff E-Spec or EBS. It makes it sound more expensive. </TD></TR></TABLE>
in that case... i have an E-spec intake also

I have to say that my E-Spec intake works very well. and looks the same as my friends AEM one. Infact i always kill him on the track. Oh i forgot to mention he has a SOHC Accord. I keep telling him to stop spending money on his motor.
very nice.. i dont think it really matter what kind of pipe u get really.. FILTER IS THE MAIN THING.. i got mine custom made myself.. regular pipe adding ext. with 00 civic pipe.. my CAI.. is baggin.. haha.. then slapping some K&N n there.. it's good to go
