Default yet another auto to manuel swap question

i have looked at all the threads on this all day and one of my questions haven't been answered.

they say you have to change the passenger side tranny mount.

okay i got that part ,but can you not just change the whole mount? example: take off the metal braket + the mount itself from a manuel car and bolt it directly to a auto car. since every other hole is there why could this not work?

you need the bracket for a manual car welded to the framerail. it gets moved about an inch back compared to the positioning of the auto bracket on the framerail. it is best if your friend has a manual car that you can look at and get exact measurements. then you need the upper tranny mount for the manual trans. i know this because i have done it before. i bought the bracket from majestic honda and it was about 40 bucks shipped to my house. the other alternative is to buy a special mount from place racing for like 140 bucks i think. good luck with it

if you are doing this on an EK i dont think you need to change the bracket on the framerail. PM 99slammedcivic he has done it on an EK

Place Racing offers a direct bolt in kit - Auto car to 5 speed hydro trans. It bolts right in we have used them before -

if you have an eg you can cut and reweld the chassis bracket. if you have an ek all you would need is get the manual mounts. also if you got an eg you can purchase an auto to manual pass. mount from place racing or Newman on this board

Hey i just finished mine today on my del sol.

i drilled out the mount off the frame rail flattened it out and rewelded it lower and closer to the front of the car, very easy to do just make sure the motor is in and you tac it there then pull the motor out or just move the lift up.

also don't forget about interior wiring like i did pretty easy though

I did this on my 96, you need to purchase the top and front transmission mounts from a manual transmission car. The rubber mounts that actually bolt to the frame are identical between auto and manual, also none of this welding/bending stuff is necessary, thats for 92-95. 96-00 all bolts up with stock parts. The top manual mount does use 3 studs, whereas the auto uses only 2 studs, thats why you cant interchange them. The rear mount is identical between auto and manual. if you have any questions im me on aim at screenname rookiestool.
