screwed? No. You're just in for a little more work. The problem with an air chisel is that it may go through the frame rail instead.
You can leave the engine, but drop the tranny out of the car, it doesnt take that long and it will give you the room you need to work. Welcome to custom stuff.

thanks for the welcome. I've done a few custom things and yes there all a pain in the ***!! so if i use an air chisel and it does make a hole in the frame well cant i just weld it back together and be good? i have a certified welder on hand, he said to air chisel it out and give him a call when im ready to weld it in place. should i follow his advise?

Best way without accidentally messing up engine bay is to get that auto to manual mount. I bought mine from Password for about 120. Believe me less headache.

did you even read all the post, I'm in to far. the only thing i can do is take off the rest of the old one and weld the new one on. i just need a good easy way to get it off without removing the tranny.

Re: mount help!!!!!! (94hondacivicvtec)
I suppose anything can be repaired if you try hard enough.
I personally wouldnt do it on my car or a customer car. If I was going to remove that factory mount, I'd drop the tranny and use a spot weld cutter to do a clean removal of the piece.
I'm of the opinion that you will be happier later if you take the time to do it correctly now.

It's sort of like a very small hole-cutter. You can get them at any auto body supply store for a few bucks, they got an end on them that goes into a drill chuck.
Not sure if the image will show (found it on google)
EDIT: Google also returned these spot weld drill bits:
The main problem with cutting metal with drill bits (especially welded metal) is that when the metal heats up / cools down it hardens. So as you drill and create heat, the weld heats and hardens, then the bit heats and hardens and so on. I want to say that carbide drills are the best thing for metal drilling.
