Analyze my slips!! High traps!!!
I went to the track last night and only managed two runs. I just recently purchased bfg drag radials and this was my first time on them. i have an ls/vtec turbo with 340 whp at 14psi.
1st run-
60'...2.183
330...5.976
1/8...8.815
mph...86.59
1000...11.220
1/4...13.196
mph...115.01
2nd run
60'...2.020
330...5.704
1/8...8.539
mph...87.15
1000...10.964
1/4...12.962
mph...114.01
12.9 @ 114.5
The first run i launched at 9 psi and switched to 14 at 3rd gear.
The second run i ran 11 psi the whole time.
Any advice on lowering my times. It seems like my 60 ft is ok at 2.0, but my 1/8 mile time is still like 8.5 what is the deal?
Also i am on an ls transmission and i basically maxed it out in 4th gear at the end of the track. Is this a good trans for my setup. I was under the impression that you want to max out 4th gear at the end of the track. I am shifting at 78-8000 also.

8.2 is a pretty good 1/8 mile to only run a 12.9 @ 115 in the 1/4... you could run a 12.9 @ 115 w/ only an 8.6-8.7 in the 1/8 cause you just carrying the mph.. thats just wierd that you ran an 8.2 and only pulled a 12.9 w/ all that mph.. Should at least be 12.5-12.6ish

Thats even odd to me... On my 13.1 in the 1/4, I clocked an 8.1 at the 1/8th point. But my cars gearing sucks *****.
But my traps were NO WHERE near that high. I dunno man.

Your 60' time is kinda high. Would like to know your 330' time, sounds like your loosing traction in the first half and making it up on the top end with the mph.

your 60's seem good with street tires. Do you bog out at all at the beginning of your run? Although the 1/8 mph seems high as well (which would mean no)
Are you cautious off the line and then just slam the gas down and spin through 1-2- and most of 3??

For some reason I thought you had typed an 8.2 for the 1/8.. in actually it was an 8.5... 8.5 1/8 to a 12.9 1/4 is pretty dead on.. Did you edit that later?
My suggestion is to not be switching boost pressures. Yes, it is a good solution to traction problems, but it is only a simple fix. I think you should invest in slicks/lightweight rims, suspension, and axles/clutch. Launch hard off the line and the end result will be some times that better resemble a car trapping 114 mph.

I agree with this idea the most.
Its like the 12 second club in here eh?
