Default compression test?

well i visited california this weekend and had to fly back but there is a deposit on the car and the seller went to go get it inspected for me and he told me that everything was fine, but the horn was disconnected because of the jdm conversion? (thats what he was saying) if this IS true could i able to connect it back?

he also said that they did a compression test and it read 220 220 220 220 is that about right on a stock itr?

edit: i also will be receiving the fax tomrrow

Seems low to me but your numbers are very very consistent which is good.

220 across the board is good. I wouldn't worry at all. And yes you can reinstall the horn with the JDM front.

As long as the numbers are consistent like yours, they are fine.

100% fine. Low numbers mean jack **** when it's even like that.. unless it's 0 across.

It could very well be miscalibrated testing equipment (a tester that got "knocked out of whack" as we say it around here).

220 all the way across? Damn, that's like right on the factory spec.

But that's Honda for you, "consistent as water"....as my local shop said.

hmm.. do the test yourself.. i know its much trouble just to get someone to do it for you while you don't hvae the car yet.. i don't want you to loose an oportuninty to buy one..

i got the fax from Acura of Santa Monica and nothing looks chopped or whatever

but i was wrong about 220 across the board he said 220 and i assumed all of em were 220 but actually the paper says

#1 = 220
#2 = 225
#3 = 220
#4 = 220

still good or what...

Numbers are fine...that variance isn't even worth worrying about.

like people have been saying. as long as the #'s are +/- 20 psi. then its good.

i just did my '98 with 120K miles. ~250 across the board. but the compression tester wasnt at 0 (at like 20psi or so, even when i purged it.) which is odd because when i was reaching for it, it dropped on the garage floor, not hard, but hopefully the #s are still what they say.

I have about 245 all the way across, but I have a JDM ITR engine, which has higher compression from the factory.

220 with a 225 is nothing to worry about though. If one of the cylinders was 50 under, then worry.
