Default compression test........

did a compression test on my jdm h22. i got the motor from HMO. this is how my test went:

cyl 1 200
cyl 2 200
cyl 3 200
cyl 4 210

i was doing some research and these numbers seem kinda low compared to other jdm h22's. i didnt hold it at WOT. will i see and increase if i do this? how can i get my numbers to go up?

thanks guys!

From what I've gathered, compression testers are not reliable to compare to other engines, as there are many factors that go into what the tester itself is going to read.

The most important thing is that all the numbers are close (within 10 or so) of eachother. In that aspect, you look good

thanks guys.....im still a little confused. ok i know that what you are looking for is consistancy. but my buddy's h22a(same motor as mine) got 240 all across. does this mean that his motor his stronger(healthier) than mine?

200-210 sounds okay. Do another test and hold it WOT. I bet you'll bump up the psi a bit.

You can buy one at a parts store, $20-40. Or take it to your tech and let him do it if your not mechanicaly inclined.

yup, and he's a probably a better driver than you too. compression test numbers are like scales: i could weigh myself on various scales and get different results. your **** looks good and feels strong. now take some driving lessons and you'll be set.
