PR3 vs. PW0
yes. it has been rumored that there are different fuel maps or something like that, who knows....but if you swapped them in your car you WONT notice a difference.
i honestly highly doubt that. im not saying that you didnt feel a better response out of your motor its just that there are so many different variables going into that kind of 'test' that you would notice more of a difference in daytime vs nighttime power. intake air temp for example.

They are both the same thing, rev limit, Vtec engagement, and all that stuff. Only thing is the PR3 can easily be chipped while the PWO to my understanding is way different and many places don't even bother.

PR3 is more programmable.
Raene chipped my Pw0 though and I ran a spoon, and feels program for a while. Right now I'm running a self-modified Pw0 program (vtec adjusted, rev limit raised).

Although I agree that your mind is tricking you, this might be interesting. You should do a blind study. Have a friend mix them up and plug them into your car without telling you which one is which, then try to guess. You'd have to run like a dozen or so tests, but it wouldn't take too long.

Why not just buy a cheap ZIF socket, download free software, buy a $5 EPROM chip, buy a $60 burner and $10 printer cable and program your own damn rev limits, fuel + ignition maps
Screw doing 20+ tests to determine a miniscule difference between PR3/PW0, and forget paying cash for a program when you don't know what fuel + ignition it has.
I've run both and noticed absolutely no difference. Now I run self-chipped Uberdata and don't care.

hey i have the same problem, with my pr3 in my crx with the jdm b16a swap as soon as i reach vtec my motor sounds like it is floating the valves. It looses all go and wont go. I plugged my stock ecu in (pm6) and the motor works just fine. I used to have a vafc and when i would switch it to 6 cyl mode my car wouldnt do it either. Whats up here?
