Default electrical question. Installing fog lights

Should fog lights be wire parallel or in series to the battery? if my fog lights are 55 watts each, then total amp draw is 55/12v = 4.5 x 2 = 9 amp right? If that is the case then I would need to get a relay that supports 9 amp or above right?

Ya just get a relay that can support 9 amps then run a power wire off the relay to each fog light. That should work fine, good luck.

"Fusible link" is a section of wire that is designed to burn up before the rest of the wiring loom goes. If it goes up, you have to find the problem (normally a major item!) and then replace that section of wire.

I'm not sure if they use fusible links in Hondas, but they are always a good idea.

Those big 80amp & 100amp fuses that bolt into the engine-compartment fusebox are used instead of fusible links.

And I'd get a relay that can support more than just 9amps. Bulb resistance is lower when cold, so the starting current will be higher for a moment when you first turn them on. It's not nearly as strong as the starting current for an electric motor, but it should be pretty easy to find a relay that can handle 15A.

I could be wrong but most fog lights wiring (including stock honda) uses a 30 amp relay. iF you buy from honda $35.00. From Radio Shack or a place near my house called skycraft, its only $0.49 cents.

I don't know the price, but what you want is a Bosch 0 332 204 150 relay. Use a section of fusable link in the wire that goes directly to the battery.
