Fog Light Wiring Question
Hey guys,
I need a little electrical help. I have a 2000 Si with JDM fog lights installed. Problem is that I need to get my car inspected in the state of Virginia, and by law the fog lights are required to turn off when the high beams are turned on; mine do not.
Anyone know how to wire them up so it will happen?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fog Light Wiring Question (civicSIfnatic)
get your red wire (power) from the fog switch and run it to your light fuse, then when you turn your lights on your fogs can be turned on that way

The lights are operated by a switch and are wired that way. It's just the law here in Virginia states that they HAVE to go off when you turn the high beams on. They don't care if you have a switch or not.

Are yours USDM? Mine are the JDM OEM fogs and I have reason to suspect that the switch harness for the JDM lights is different from the USDM. Can anyone confirm?

Do this or splice your power wire to the low beam wire at the headlights. I say try a diff. garage also maybe.

I believe if you use a relay and connect your fog lights to you regular headlights, then when you turn on your brights the fogs will go off with the lows. Just make sure its relayed so you dont blow fuses.

*UPDATE BUMP*
I got a US switch harness and modified it so I could run my fog lights without having my headlights on.
I have a new problem though. The JDM switch does not operate like the US switch. I have to hold it down to keep the fog lights on.
Can anyone with wiring experience jump in on this? I would really like to get this switch to work.
(Honda has discontinued the US switch, so getting one it a no go.)

Re: (civicSIfnatic)
just unhook them. the foglights must operate correctly if they are going to operate at all but there is no law saying they have to work. just unhook them for inspection and say they dont work.

Sounds like a broken switch. Happened to a DEPO switch I used to have.
USDM foglights are supposed to (by law) turn off when the high beams come on.
