Default Fuel pump location for Drag airtex pump... please help!!!

Ok, thanks to markC, we figured out my lean problem might be related to the fact that i just have an upgraded intank pump and not the booster pump/inline that comes with the drag kit.. pressure will be high, but not enough flow... soooooo

I'm trying to find a vibration free spot to put the pump...

1. ontop of a/c line isn't gonna work... the nitrous injector plate has caused the pipe to move down and block that spot.

2. the hose fitting on the pump won't fit the fuel line, but I think i have a way around that after i get a mounting spot....

I looked at dustins setup and it just won't go in that spot... and i was told it had to be a vibration free spot... which leaves the firewall out?? or on the strut brace? I don't know.. and i'm totally ticked, because my trip to colorado is coming and i dont want any problems going there or back.. i dont want to wait for the pump mounting either... unless my dad can fashion a bracket in his shop....

If you just want a quick fix for the time being, I would say that you can strap it to your charge pipe right before the T/B. I know this is a shitty way of doing it, but hey it works for the time being until youi can do a proper install.

see, it works. I have a feel that I am not gonna be able to find a spot to mount my new fuel pump. I haven't looked into it that much though. I bet ya though, I'm gonna end up strapping(?) it to the charge pipe.

get a few zip ties and strap that **** to the big rubber hose right next to your throttle body. i dont know what that hose is called. its pretty sturdy.

Mine will not fit on top of the AC line at all... mine is on the driver's SIDE of the AC line.

go down to your local hardware store and buy the smallest rubber hose connector (about 2") you know the kind they use for plumbing(the black rubber ones)if its too big wrap the pump w/ some black electrical tape till it fits snug.

use two hose clamps from the auto store to secure the pump in there tightly and with the excess straps you can use that to mount into the shock tower, firewall or whatever... it will be very vibration free w/ that rubber hose. im prolly making no sense huh? wish i had a picture...

now THAT is ghetto. If you wrap a high pressure/high volume pump wiht a lot of electrical tape then you aren't going to be doing much except helping the pump to overheat.

Problem solved.. mounted it under where the intake filter sits.. got a domestic accel ignition coil bracket and rubber hose.. wrapped the pump.. bolted it down.. then ran the lines.. i'll take pictures this afternoon for everyone to see.. it worked out nice...

time to shower and go hunting!!!!
