Default Where you mount an EGT Probe on a drag manifold?

I just picked up a greddy egt gauge last night and was wondering where the best place is to mount the probe. I have a drag set up on my car. I read some people saying to mount it in the #1 runner and others saying #3 any help would be great. Thanks

#3 cylinder typically runs the hottest. Drill and tap approximately 1" from the cylider head on the manifold.

so I would get a more accuate reading from putting it in a then in B? I figured B would give me more of an overall reading since it is in the middle.

You are looking for the worst case scenario, you want it in the hottest cylinder. #3 typically runs the hottest. If you mount where the runners collect, you'll get an overall reading but you wont be able to see the hottest egt reading which is what you need to be concerned with.

Haha...."I think it would look better on the bottom side." Shut up. Stop worrying so much about how it looks. Geesh. Whats wrong with people. As far as a better or worse reading, its possible it might read a little cooler on the bottom side of the runner. THink of how the exaust is coming up and out of the cylinder/port. I would think the top side would be hotter due to the flow patter of the air.
