6x9 speakers in the back of an integra, possible?
I'm sure this will be good in the Audio section, but since I'm really in need of asking integra owners. -
Thanks:
Integras have 6 1/2 inch speakers all around,
but I'm curious has anyone done this and putted 6x9's in the back? and also, if so, is there an adapter where i can fit these speakers in?
Because, I looks in the back and im sure there is LOTS of room to fit a 6x9 in, easy.
Any feedback will be nice. THanks.

the looks of the back are deceiving....
yes, the speaker grill back there is huge, but if you actually look behind it, there isn't a ton of room (just enough for a 6.5" round).
i'm not saying it can't be done, but i am saying that it won't be easy or fun.

i want to try to put 6x9s in my integra, 6.5s suck in the back
maybe you could cut into the rear cover and mount them there. but that won't work for people w/ stripped interior

yes of course it's possible... in a sedan
actually my friend had Infinity Kappa 6x9's in his Integra coupe, so it can be done.

I guess, ill try and give it a shot. -
My brother had done and putted the 6x9's in the rear cover. Very nicely done, but seems to me as if i rather dont want to leave the back side panel empty, when i can cleanly hide the speakers. -
Either or, i will try to fit this sucker in there. -
. Any other had done this to their integra? Pics? Thanks bunches..

hey dude what i did was cut one of the small plastic brkts of the factory mounts, and basicaly used the factory mount spots, granted i did have to drill pilot holes lust afew milimeters away from the originals. I have three mount points on my rear 6x9's.
you know the only thing that sux is the entire friggin 1/4 trim panel has to come off, that means rear seat, seat belts, rear body int trim, and friggin on and on. I drive a 96 ls so it should work on yours too.
you could also custom fit them onto the cargo cover. I had that done for a while and it sounded pretty good. I took them out after i took out my seats though.

if your trying to get more low end out of your back speakers consider a component set with mids and what not for the car..unless you dont have subs in the back or else it wont sound quite right..then you get to hackin away at your car
I've done it.
Its not easy or fun...but its quite possible.
With NO permanat mod to the car. There is a SHITLOAD of space behind the rear pannels. I made a mount out of wood and cut it to hold the speaker in. Worked great...my only mistake was that I never made a barrier between the rear of the speaker and the front, so I'm not getting any bass out of em...I'll have to take it apart and make some sort of baffle when I get a chance.

the back rear covers has two metal bars in them, which the speakers lay exactly between them. Good support on them! Thanks for advices though. -

It fits w/ barely any work involved, all you need are self tapping screws.
Here a pic of mine mounted.

remove the whole 6.5 pod, and then some self tapping screws and you're done.
when you take off the Whole panel its much easier to access.

Here's what i decided to do. Looks nicers and maybe sounds better? Wells, heck IT SOUND D@MN NICE. -
Just need to put on my speaker grill, then im set to go. The speaker fits perfectly between the two metal bars ( good for support ) and no rattle whatsoever. Sounds VERY VERY sharp and clean.
