first i heard of the need to re-balance the motor for removal of transimssion...

misuse or improper installation may cause problems.. for clutch/transmission part(s) before anything..

No, the flywheel does not act as a harmonic balancer.

i realize it doesnt work as a harmonic balancer but if honda balanced the crank at the factory with the flywheel connected, then switching the flywheel to a different weight will throw off the balance of the block internals. so does anyone know if they do have the flywheel connected when the motor is balanced by honda?

the flywheel SHOULD be perfectly symetrical and not cause any "balancing" problems. Bolt it on and go

I've done plenty of hard racing (drag, auto-x, HPDE) miles as well as daily driver miles on my Exedy 9.1 lb flywheel (on a B16A) and there isn't even a question balance issues.

It's a great mod.
