ground control adapter for koni shock?
Do any of you guys have a picture of this adapter? I don't want to be a cheapskate, but I have a very low amount of money to play around with right now and I can easily have this made for very little or nothing.
RJ - sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I know how popular the gc/koni combo is in here and I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Uhm... the GC adapter is a precision fit piece. Your suspension working properly is a rather important thing IMHO - this really is the wrong place to cut costs, especially given its marginal nature.
Just buy the adapaters from GC, they're about $40 for the set.

Here you are! I have 1 set of 4 Ground Control sleeves and adaptors as shown for Koni dampers front and rear, no perches $ 45.00 "new" if you need them.

Actually, there are no more adapters. The threaded body is different for Konis. Just buy the correct setup for your car. If you already have non-koni CG parts, new sleeves are $15 each.

Thats what I thought judging by the picture on their site.
I'm going to wait awhile to buy springs. $340 goes along way when you're unemployed.
Thanks for the help.

This is correct, sort of. I believe that you will need a new lower perch as well. The new version from GC for Koni shocks uses a smaller diameter sleeve & new perch as compared to the old version. The sleeve slides down & only needs the circlip.
added in edit: I am too lazy to jack up the car to compare the Tokico, KYB, etc sleeves to my new GC Koni sleeves.

A Koni GC setup minus the springs is $180. You should be able to find used springs around.
The adapter is not a shotty part thrown in to make GC money. The fit is very good. Mine sheered the stickers off the shock body when I slid the sleeve on.

The Koni adapters will only fit the Koni shocks cause it uses a snap ring on the shock. It just replaces that perch that comes on the shocks. Also you have to buy new threaded sleeves with the Koni adapters pressed into them, the sleeves from a stock Honda/Acura kit will not work.
Where are you getting your gc/koni sleeves for 15 each. I just bought a set for $100 and would like to get a second set for 60 if possible. The perches are all the same size between the standard gc's and the koni/gc sleeves. The koni sleeves are a lot smaller than the standard gc sleeves so they will not work on anything but the koni's.
I looked at a couple of used sets of Koni sports with ground controls and not a single one of the sets had the correct sleeves. They were using the old spring cups with a standard honda/acura gc setup. Sjteg make sure if you get a used set that the sleeves fit real tight on the shock body and over the circlip.
